CQQ #9: Guardian Angels...?

Is there a guardian angel watching over you?

Angels. A topic that may fascinate many and has its popularity in media and merchandising, yet we know so little about them.

Some bible verses have been quoted by others to speculate on or suggest the idea of guardian angels, angels that supposedly watch over a child or person they're assigned to watch, with one in particular from the words of Christ Himself...

See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 18:10)

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. (Psalm 91:11)

Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation? (Hebrews 1:14)

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. (Hebrews 13:2)

But whether or not we each have an angel assigned to us, we have the assurance of a relationship with God through Christ, who surely watches over us. As God's children, we can always go directly to Him in prayer, and we have Him to thank for all that is good!

Curious Questions to Consider:

Do you believe in guardian angels?

What roles do you think angels play in today's world?

Do you think it's possible that you or someone you know has/had entertained an angel in disguise?

Did you or someone you know encounter an angel(s) in a dream before?

What else do you believe about angels?

  1. What we know about the realm of Supernatural beings, of which angels are, is very minute. Through scripture,we catch glimpses of beings beyond our cognitive observance. Having said all that, the Bible certainly infers we have guardian angels. We see in the Torah, in Job and in the writing of the prophets the idea angelic beings are set over geographic regions and nation's.

Yes, I believe scripture when it says we may entertain angels unawares. Can't say I ever have but I have had plenty of experience with demonic spirits, which I am pretty sure are not fallen angels as we have been led to believe.

I also believe scripture prohibits us from attempting contact with angels.

    Good post! Very thought provoking

  2. I believe to the extent that God ordains to use angels in the life of men, it shall happen. We do not need a guardian angel per se, when Almighty God can command a legion of angels to aid us when required. We need to be careful about placing too much emphasis on angels. We must worship God, Father Son and Holy Spirit, and Him only.

    Another good question, thank you.

  3. Yes I believe in Guardian Angels. I have had a few things happen to me which provides some evidence. In the year 2000 I encountered a man dressed in all-white inside an office high rise elevator. He didn't say anything and I never saw him again. No coworkers I asked that day had seen him. I also regularly see Angel Numbers. At first it was 666 on my Car ODO reading, then on my Company Number, on my airline ticket numbers, rego plates even a power pole number. It meant I should be paying more attention to spiritual things than material things, which I started to do. Then recently I have seen 111 on my Car ODO, Rego plates, house numbers and some other places, which means it is a time of change for me. I also regularly see 3:16 on my computer clock which of course is a reference to John 3:16. I'm not sure why I'm seeing 3:16. Is it a message to me?
